🎵 Listen to Tao

Ghost Whisperers
Raj Anand

Allowing sound to rise from stillness, each note is an invitation to slow down, drop in, and feel what lives beneath the noise. This is music as meditation. Sound as presence. A direct transmission of the Tao.

If you ask anyone who’s spent time with Raj, they’ll probably mention the same thing first:

He’s always smiling.

Not in a superficial, everything’s-fine kind of way, but in that grounded, genuine way that makes you feel like even the biggest drama might not be such a big deal after all. It’s not that Raj doesn’t see the seriousness of life, he just sees it from a different place. A quieter place. A place of perspective, presence, and even playfulness.

Raj’s journey is a story of transformation, and a love of exploring what it really means to be human. He started out in the fast-paced world of law, working at a hugely respected legal firm, with all the pressure and prestige that comes with it. But then, something unexpected happened, he saw Osho on TV. That single moment sparked something in him, and what was meant to be a short visit to Osho’s commune in Oregon turned into the beginning of an entirely different life.

He left his legal career behind, travelled to India, and began diving into meditation, therapy, and a whole new way of understanding life. Over the next 40 years, Raj immersed himself in Osho’s teachings, trained in therapies like Primal Therapy and Childhood Deconditioning, and later joined the Osho Mystery School, where he studied under Wadud and Waduda. Osho’s teachings were more than just learning therapy techniques though, they are a deep-dive into the depths of the human heart, mind, and spirit.

Around the same time, Raj discovered his love of astrology. What started as an interest became a bit of an obsession, and a tool for understanding life’s patterns and energy, including his own. He also began practising Tai Chi - every single morning - for the past 40 years - seriously. You can find him in every winter in the peaceful Buddha Grove at the OSHO International Meditation Resort in Pune, guiding thousands of people back to their bodies, their breath, and their centre.

One final inspiring insight into Raj, is that at age 54, he picked up the shakuhachi - a traditional Japanese bamboo flute that’s known for its subtlety and difficulty - and began to fall in love with music.  At first, it was silence. No sound. Just breath and persistence. But Raj doesn’t give up easily. For a Westerner to master the shakuhachi is rare. But once again, with quiet discipline and daily practice, what began as an impossible goal, turned into into a deeply meditative art. Over time, he became a proficient player, his music carrying the same stillness, presence, and spaciousness that defines his life and teaching.

And that’s what makes Raj different; it isn’t just what he knows, it’s how he shows up.

From the outside, he’s a bit like the turtle in the Taoist tradition, he can seem reserved, composed, even a bit aloof. But get a little closer, and you’ll find someone wise, warm, and deeply human. Someone who listens not just with his ears, but with his whole presence. Someone who laughs easily, but also offers the kind of grounded insights you can actually lean on when life gets real.

He doesn’t talk at you. He doesn’t preach. He meets you exactly where you are; with kindness, clarity, and a lot of humour. Whether you’re joining a class, or sitting down for a mentoring conversation, you’ll leave feeling more like yourself, and more connected to what really matters.

"Peace isn’t something we find by escaping life; it’s something we uncover by meeting life differently." - Raj
